Her creativity and love of hands-on experiences will make Kimberly Carroll a great fit at the Lakeland Chapter in her new position as Workplace Program Coordinator. “Once I joined the staff, I realized that the American Red Cross is indescribable when it comes to the volunteers, donors, staff and their efforts. Whether it’s disaster relief, transportation assistance or CPR training, the Red Cross is a huge asset to the community,” says Kim.
Kim is from the small town of Orfordville, which is in south central-Wisconsin, near Janesville. After graduation, she did not return to the small town of 1,200 but came north to Packer country to coordinate events for the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce.
Kim has been a long time friend of the Red Cross as a blood donor and the friendship continues to grow. “I really enjoy the people I work with. They have been welcoming and incredibly helpful, plus their hearts are in their jobs. They’re overall good people,” says Kim.
What new and old friends might not know to ask her about is the time she was on Nickelodeon’s “Figure it Out.” The whole family went down to Universal Studios with her and her fifth grade class for a class project. “My Dad even got slimed,” says Kim.
When not at the Red Cross she enjoys spending time outdoors of Wisconsin. “I like doing anything outside, whether it’s camping with my family, snowmobiling, boating or just taking a walk,” says Kim.
