Youth Doing Good in our Community

Anika Abid of De Pere West High School wanted to help the people in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in January. She realized high school kids are always hungry after school. So, she bought a popcorn machine, made brownies, and started selling her popcorn and brownies after school for 50-cents each bag or brownie. The bell rang at 2:45pm, but Anika stayed until 4:30pm every day. She had 600 transactions and donated $300 to the American Red Cross for Haitian Relief where it will be used for sheltering, food and relief.
